Initially the review was slightly mixed but on the whole they enjoyed the eight part drama and described it as:
"Incredibly compelling, brilliantly acted"
"Knocked spots off Mayday"
"Has a Rolls Royce cast"
One reviewer even wished that Broadchurch and not Mayday was broadcast on consecutive evenings as he was so eager to watch the other episodes.
