2 David Tennant / Pirates! movies to start being shown on UK TV

At 6am on Monday 10th September the movie The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists starts being shown on the Sky Movies channels. David Tennant voices the young Charles Darwin in this movie which was released earlier this year and is also released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK that day.

The movie will be repeated lots of times over the following weeks.

At DavidTennantOnTwitter.com we have a policy of not tweeting Sky movie screenings as there are so many and the tweets would get tedious.

However at 4pm on the non-movie channel Sky One on Sunday 9th is the UK non-movie channel premiere of the short movie So You Want to Be A Pirate! in which David Tennant also voices Charles Darwin.

This movie will be first shown on the channel Sky Family Movies on Saturday 8th at 5.50pm and then shown on various Sky movie channels over the next few weeks.

David Tennant Daily News Digest for Saturday 11th August

Doctor Who and Nativity Two movie are the two topics covered in the David Tennant Daily News Digest today.

David Tennant Treat 4 Today

BBC America in the US are broadcasting a short series of Doctor Who compilation programmes. The first one, The Science Of Doctor Who, was broadcast last week (and is repeated at 11pm tonight) and the second one is called The Women Of Doctor Who and is on at 9pm and midnight.

David Tennant is mentioned briefly in regards to his movie Nativity 2: Danger In The Manager in an interview with Joanna Page in The Mirror

Recording of David Tennant reciting words of Gold on Christian O'Connell Show tomorrow

A few weeks ago Absolute Radio DJ Christian O'Connell had a bet with his producer that if Team GB won more than 20 gold medals at the London 2012 Olympics then he could play Spandau Ballet's 1983 hit Gold 20 times in tomorrow's show.

Of course Team GB surpassed the 20 gold medal tally by winning 28 so, instead of playing exactly the same track 28 times, Christian has arranged for some famous people to sing or recite the lyrics and today he tweeted that David Tennant is one of the names.

Tony Hadley (lead singer of Spandau Ballet) has also been invited onto the programme for a live performance of Gold.

The Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show is on Absolute Radio from 6am until 10am and can be heard worldwide from this link. (David's recording is likely to be towards the end of the show.)

If you miss the broadcast then DavidTennantOnTwitter.com will post it afterwards too.

EDIT: After this was posted Team GB won a 29th gold medal.

Doctor Who RUMOURS and David Tennant Daily News Digest for Thursday 9th August

Today reports of the rumours about David Tennant being involved in any Doctor Who 50th Anniversary project went through the roof on the internet! Most websites seem to forget that David specifically refused to confirm or deny anything during his appearance on Attack Of The Show last Week and he only said when asked that he had one of the Doctor's suits, which he has had since 2009!

However there were four other pieces of David Tennant news today:

SFX has a photo of the real Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Monopoly Board and the story behind it. The previous photo was a fake one although it had a larger photo of David Tennant on it!

An article in The Independent mentions David Tennant's comments on Attack Of The Show in an article about the new drama of the early days of Doctor Who which was announced today.

The release of the DVD of Shakespeare Uncovered (the DVD is currently called Prefaces To Shakespeare) has been postponed in the UK and Europe according to Amazon from 27th August to 29th October. The release has been delayed in the US until 5th November.

More photos from filming of David Tennant's drama The Spies Of Warsaw

Earlier today we tweeted a link to some photos of David Tennant during filming The Spies Of Warsaw which had been posted onto Tumblr.

Many thanks to Ania who has kindly provided the link to the original website where the photos were posted.

Also on that website is a short item which Ania has kindly transcribed for us:

"On April 11, 2012, historical serial Spies of Warsaw started being
filmed. Screening of this 4 part production is scheduled for autumn
2012, will be shown simultaneously by the British channel BBC 4 and
Polish TVP1.

Giedroyc journalist, author and editor of the Parisian "Kultura".
