David Tennant mentioned in @TobyHadoke's hilarious show at Edinburgh Fringe

Comedian and big Doctor Who fan Toby Hadoke will be performing his hilarious new stage show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (at Gilded Balloon Teviot) from Wednesday 1st August (tomorrow) until Sunday 26th August (not Wednesday 15th) at 3.10pm each day. The show lasts an hour.

One of the people who helps run DavidTennantOnTwitter.com attended one of his warm-up shows earlier this month and reported that Toby mentions David Tennant twice during the hilarious show plus he has a photo of David on the screen at one stage.

Toby’s previous show was called Moths Ate My Doctor Who Scarf and David Tennant provided the voiceover at the beginning of that show.

This production is a continuation of the first show (although you do not need to have seen Moths in order to enjoy it) as it features a more recent part of Toby’s life.

If you can not get to Edinburgh, then Toby will be touring the show over the next few months. His website TobyHadoke.com will have all the details soon.

Screenrant reports that a montage of the 11 Doctors (including David Tennant) from Doctor Who WAS planned to be part of the Olympics opening ceremony but had to be dropped due to time restraints. It was shown during the rehearsals in the stadium. Instead fans had to settle for just the sound of the TARDIS in a compliation section of British television shows.

David Tennant starts working on Broadchurch

Although filming on David Tennant's new ITV serial Broadchurch is not expected to start until mid August, it was reported that he was already doing some preparation work on Thursday.

According to one post on Twitter (see below), David visited an office to do research for Broadchurch. She doesn't specify which type of office she works in or even which town the office was located in but she lives in Gravesend in Kent which is only twenty minutes from London so he may have remained in the capital.

It is not at all unusual for actors to start work on a project in advance of filming, especially if they are as thorough and professional as David. Also, before filming starts most dramas will have a read-through as well as costume fittings and make-up tests.

Filming on David's most recent project The Politician's Husband is believed to have finished on Wednesday (25th).

It is possible that David started work on Broadchurch the following day if he is planning on making a trip to America this week as rumoured.

David Tennant is still listed as an 'expected panelist' by the Canadian website TVGuide.ca when The Spies Of Warsaw is presented at the 2012 TV Critics Association Summer Press Tour on Wednesday 1st August in Beverly Hills.

Last night several fans reported online that he was in the audience watching What The Butler Saw at the Vaudeville Theatre in London. This was the final performance as it closed a month early.

David Tennant's Fear Her episode of Doctor Who proved wrong on 2 counts

Back in 2006 the Doctor Who episode Fear Her was broadcast in June that year.

It was set around the London 2012 Olympic Games and featured The Doctor lighting the Olympic Torch in the stadium and included a line in which he says that in the 2012 Olympics Papua New Guinea surprises everyone in the shot put.

Unfortunately it appears that both of these will not happen!

Of course when Matthew Graham (helped by Russell T Davies) wrote the episode it was six years ago so anything he wrote was well in the future but it hasn't stopped fans of both David Tennant and Doctor Who speculating.

The most popular aspect was the idea that David Tennant as The Doctor would light the Olympic flame in the stadium but this week it was reported that the two most likely people are former Olympic Gold Medal winners Daley Thompson and Steve Redgrave.

There were loads of tweets on Twitter when the current Doctor Matt Smith carried the Olympic Torch through some of Cardiff as lots of fans thought that honour should have gone to David Tennant. (As it was arranged by BBC Wales it was obvious that they would use the actor currently playing the role.)

There have even been some online petitions running for David to light the torch!

In regards to the second 'prediction', earlier this week the Papua New Guinea Olympics Team was finalised and, although they have their biggest team since Atlanta in 1996, they only have 8 athletes competing in 5 sports. The sports are Athletics, Swimming, Judo, Taekwondo and Weightlifting so Papua New Guinea are not even competing in the shot put!
