David Tennant reads The Lady Of The House Of Love on Book At Bedtime tonight

Tonight at 10.45pm David Tennant reads the Book At Bedtime on BBC Radio Four.

The story is described as a "retake on the Sleeping Beauty story which first appeared in Carter's 1979 volume The Bloody Chamber." It is part of the A Night With A Vampire 2 series. (David Tennant read the first series in 2010. That series concentrated on Victorian Vampire output but in this year they are set in the 20th Century and introduce stories "with a little twist from the UK and the USA.")

The synopsis of the story The Lady Of The House Of Love on the BBC Radio Four website is:

"A virginal English soldier, travelling through Romania by bicycle, finds himself in a deserted village. He comes across a mansion inhabited by a vampiress who survives by enticing young men into her bedroom and feeding on them. She intends to feed on the young soldier but his purity and virginity have a curious effect on her......."

The producer of this series is Clive Brill and it is a Pacificus production for BBC Radio 4.
